On December 5, CR Corporate Service (“CRCS”) and CR SWCS co-organized an employee event in Hong Kong under the theme “Better Together · Moving Forward as One.” A minute of silence was observed to mourn the lives lost in the Tai Po fire tragedy and the firefighters who sacrificed their duties.
Mr. Li Shansong, Vice General Manager of CRCS, highlighted that since its establishment, China Resources Group, as a central state-owned enterprise based in Hong Kong, has shared weal and woe with the city. The group promptly mobilized resources to support the disaster-stricken areas, providing a basic livelihood safety net for affected compatriots and demonstrating the responsibility of a state-owned enterprise through concrete actions. Dr. Maurice Ngai, CEO of CR SWCS, expressed that as a central state-owned enterprise-controlled company, CR SWCS has embedded "social responsibility" into its development path. The value of an CR SWCS lies not only in creating performance but also in standing together in times of crisis. He added that the mourning for the deceased should translate into reverence for life, strengthened safety measures, and a commitment to unity.
Amid the cold wind sweeping across Victoria Harbour, sorrow lingers over Wang Fuk Court, CR SWCS will continue to closely monitor the progress of post-disaster reconstruction and actively support the coordinated efforts of the HKSAR government and China Resources Group. With the strong backing of the Central Government, the proactive efforts of the HKSAR government, and the collective efforts of all citizens, we believe that the affected communities will overcome this hardship and rebuild their beautiful homes.
